Fellowship of Christian Athletes Spreads Valentine's Day Cheer

You didn’t need a sweetheart to receive gifts this Valentine’s day. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes club (FCA) gave the sweet treat of school supplies and handmade cards to teachers this Feb. 14th.

Earlier in the week members got together to make goody bags for teachers with a sweet note and some school supplies like: expo markers, highlighters, pens, and pencils. “Teachers get a lot of our beef so we just wanna let them know we appreciate them.” explained one leader, sophomore Lauren Muche.

The FCA is all about linking church and school through spreading the love of God. The valentines were just one example of the kind of projects they take on.

Explaining why they chose this project, Muche added,”To reach out to my school and share the love of God.”

During last weeks meeting members each took the names of around four teachers. Those would be the recipients of their valentines delivery. While they packaged the supplies, they listened to gospel music and chatted with one another.

Mackenzie Benson, freshman, says,”Making the goody bags was so much fun! I’m so thankful for the opportunity!”

If this sounds like fun to you, too, join in next Thursday at lunch in room 601. You don’t have to be a Christian or an athlete! Bring a friend!
