Meet the Newest and 'Littlest' Member of the Counseling Department

As the circle of life continues to turn, we have another Timberwolf to welcome to the pack. Ms. Parli, 10th-12th grade counselor, currently on maternity leave, welcomed a new baby girl on February 7.

Veda Joan Parli, the newest addition to the Parli family, was born 8 pounds 3 ounces and measured 20 inches.

“We are both trying to load up on sleep,” Ms. Parli, obviously exhausted, writes in her email to the MVHS staff. Parli also has a pre-school aged son, so undoubtedly her hands are full with a different kind of work from home.

Parli’s temporary departure has not left the counseling department without help. Although she will be on maternity leave for the remainder of the school year. During her leave, Mr. Howard Wornek, former counselor at MVHS who retired last year, will be covering her responsibilities.

Mission Vista is happy to have Mr. Wornek back, even for a short period of time. “He is really kind, compassionate, and listens really well,” reminisces Rosaria Davis, a senior who sought scheduling advice from Mr. Wornek as a freshman.

On behalf of the MVHS Timberwolves: welcome, Veda, to the pack.
