Oh How The Tables Have Turned

Upon exiting class after the lunch bell, a noticeable change catches the eyes of Mission Vista High School students: the lunch tables have been rotated.

Students are creatures of habitat--any change in their lunch routine can create drama! Now, there are two sides to a dispute about whether the new setting is a keeper or a deal breaker. Some desperately want the old table layout back but others are content with the change.

“I think it’s kinda wack because it separates friend groups and disconnects relationships that you could be having during your break time,” Freshman Jackson Koehler, who prefers the old table layout, speaks his mind on the matter.

While there are others who agree with Jackson, who advocates for the old layout, many prefer the new one, such as senior John Marcone who is a fan of the new table layout and a self proclaimed sun lover.

“I think it’s totally a good thing. The reason I say that is because I like the sun, and that means more tables out in the sun,” explains Marcone.

In agreement with Marcone, freshman Gavin Cranny says, “I like it because there is more room and you can sit in the sun.”

“I moved them because of the rain,” explains Groundskeeper Jaime. In the previous weeks, water had begun to condense on the awning and drip onto the lunch tables. This created a problem while students ate their lunch since water would fall onto them and their lunches.

It appears that the two opinions are equally supported by the student body. Out of twenty-one student responses, about 52% are against the new layout and 48% are for it. If you have an opinion on this, vote! Click here to fill the form: https://goo.gl/forms/S8zRRE3yvzxeu1Gt2
